Twitter is due to launch their new Twitter Advertising model this summer, which includes google style sponsored listings that appear around it's real time search results.
One major brand that has welcomes this development with open arms is Lloyds Banking Group. Jason Bacon, the groups Digital head says "As with any search- marketing activity, the key is relevancy to what the consumer is looking for and ensuring that paid- for content is poisitoned correctly in terms of what users expect from Twitter".
This takes us back to the good old theory that the softly softly selling approach needs to be taken on generic social networking sites.
